We are seeking an innovative and dedicated faculty member to join our engaged academic community. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of motivated adult learners.

The college invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment as Assistant Professor in the School for Public Affairs and Administration, with an expected start date of Fall 2025. Competitive candidates will be generalists in Public Administration or related disciplines, such as Political Science or Economics. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or familiarity in nonprofit organizations or government sectors.

Teaching responsibilities will range from graduate courses in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program to undergraduate courses in Nonprofit Management, depending on departmental needs.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about:

  • Enhancing undergraduate and graduate teaching to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
  • Integrating experiential learning by incorporating students’ fieldwork--such as jobs, internships, and work-study programs--into their learning experiences.
  • Supporting and advising graduate students in conducting research using quantitative and/or qualitative methods
  • Collaborating with other college programs
  • Teaching and working with a non-traditional schedule that may include daytime, evening, or weekend responsibilities, as needed for classes or events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A doctorate in a relevant field, with experience in curriculum development and knowledge of adult learning theories.
  • A demonstrated record of excellence in college-level instruction, particularly with non-traditional students.
  • Experience in community-based, policy, and action research.
  • A history of teaching in interdisciplinary programs.
  • A proven track record of scholarship in public administration and related fields.
  • The ability to develop a robust research program capable of attracting internal and external funding.
  • Direct experience with social service provider organizations.
  • Familiarity with and experience in distance learning educational models.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse cultural setting.
  • A strong professional network with the potential to engage and recruit prospective student groups.
  • A proactive approach to incorporating innovative solutions to address academic and institutional challenges.
  • Familiarity with the college’s Purpose-Centered Education model.
