Title: Buyer

Location: Mossville, IL

Details: 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, full onsite role

Pay Rate: $35.00 – 38.00/hr. with benefit inclusions

Job Summary

The Buyer will support the Electric Drive category within the Electrification Division. This role involves managing buyer codes and workload to ensure timely quote and sourcing activities for production builds. The Buyer will lead supplier issue resolution, monitor supplier performance, and drive improvements as needed. Additionally, the Buyer will lead sourcing and other category-related projects.

Responsibilities

• Complete purchase part sourcing activities including RFI, RFQ, and source selection based on category sourcing matrix.
• Lead resolution of supplier issues including payment, pricing, and shipping concerns.
• Manage supplier relationships through regular meetings to address performance and operational issues.
• Collaborate daily with other buyers and frequently with the engineering team.
• Work onsite at the Mossville AC office building, within a closely situated team environment.

Years of Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10 years of related experience required, with multiple years in purchasing.
• Cross-functional experience in Logistics, Engineering, and Operations Management is acceptable.
• Experience in electrification and electric drive industries is beneficial.

Skills Required

Technical Skills (Required)

• Experience negotiating with suppliers.
• Ability to read engineering prints and specifications for sourcing activities.
• Experience leading cross-functional meetings.

Technical Skills (Desired)

• CPSM, CPPM, or CPP certifications preferred.

Soft Skills (Required)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in meeting note taking and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze price proposals and technical data.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to purchasing.
• Expertise in supply chain and shipping performance management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
