Title: Buyer – Procurement Specialist

Location: Chillicothe, IL

Details: 18-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, Hybrid – 3 days weekly onsite

Pay Rate: $23.00 – 26.00/hr. with benefit inclusions

Job Summary: The Procurement Specialist will support the E&T Procurement division, specifically the Electrification and Energy Solutions division. This role is critical in ensuring our organization partners with suppliers who provide world-class quality and shipping performance. The specialist will help make the team more efficient and deliver services to the enterprise at a lower cost. This role offers visibility to cutting-edge technology and participation in New Product Introduction programs unique to the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Buyers in gathering supplier information and pricing for bills of material to be sent to suppliers.
• Manage Buyer Lognet workloads, including loading quotes for parts and approving facilities to suppliers.
• Help with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) of metrics performance issues such as past dues, shipping, and quality performance.
• Leverage enterprise tools to manage costs, including project loads and updates.
• Create and manage dashboards for program health, supplier health, resiliency progress, cost reduction activities, spend analytics, and ad-hoc reporting (contract management, CPA Tracker, SPM Tracker).

Years of Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (4-7 years of experience).
• High School Diploma required with 7+ years of experience
• Experience working in purchasing, finance, engineering, clerical, or sales.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
• Ability to learn software quickly.
• (Desired) Familiarity with Caterpillar systems and tools.
• (Desired) Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships and performance.
• Team player with excellent collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently on assignments and tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
