Director of Warehouse Operations, CMI

CMI , a leading technology-driven premium packaging supplier to the restaurant industry, is seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented  Director of Warehouse Operations . The Opportunity:

We are seeking a data-driven leader to oversee all aspects of our warehouse operations, driving efficiency and productivity across critical functions such as receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping. You will be instrumental in leveraging data analytics to identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and ensure that our warehouse operations are scalable and cost-effective. This role reports directly to the CEO and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership to shape the future of our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Warehouse Management: Lead the strategic direction and execution of all warehouse functions, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of inventory. 
• Performance Measurement: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against operational goals, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for optimization across all areas of warehouse operations.
• Inventory Control: Implement and manage inventory control processes to ensure accuracy, minimize waste, and optimize stock levels to meet customer demand.
• Order Fulfillment: Oversee the order fulfillment process, ensuring timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve warehouse layout, workflow processes, and material handling procedures to maximize efficiency and productivity. 
• Technology Implementation: Leverage existing technology, including the Odoo ERP system, and identify opportunities to implement new automation solutions to streamline operations and enhance visibility. 
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and coach a high-performing warehouse team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in warehouse management and logistics, with a proven track record of success in leading and optimizing complex warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management best practices, inventory control methods, and order fulfillment processes.
• Expertise in using data analytics to drive operational improvements and solve complex problems.
• Proven ability to implement and manage warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
• Experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Location:

• Drakes Branch, VA. This position requires daily attendance in the office. Occasional travel to warehouses in Texas is required.
