Description
Spanish Interpreter/ Translator Give children a head start! This is an On-Call position Job Description: This position provides interpretation for monolingual Spanish speaking families within CPCD in various meetings and training settings and provides quality translation for written documents.
Pay: $26.82/hour
About CPCD: At CPCD, we provide more than 1,500 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Required: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interpretation/translation experience.
- Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish and English.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English and Spanish languages including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Ability to organize and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in working with parents, children, staff, and community members.
- Must type 40 - 50 WPM accurately and have experience operating office equipment. Knowledge and ability to use various computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required)..
- Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties and maintain minimum liability insurance as required by Colorado law if a private vehicle is used.
