Job Title: Life Coaching Adjunct Faculty

Summary of Position: The adjunct faculty position in life coaching in the School of Integrated Health (SIH) and within the Division of Behavioral & Health Sciences will educate adult learners through teaching in an online modality the foundations of life coaching. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the life coaching specialization in the BS in Human Services and in the life coaching academic certificate programs. The Life Coaching curriculum is offered in a hybrid and online modality. Each of the courses is five-six weeks long and was developed so that much of the coursework is completed online, but with a 2.5 hour a week commitment to a synchronous, weekly training in life coaching. Adjuncts in Life Coaching will be required to facilitate the weekly synchronous meetings and to maintain an engaging online presence.
Additional responsibilities may include mentoring coaches-in-training, facilitating with ongoing curriculum development and improvement, presenting seminars in life coaching, leading group life coaching courses, attending adjunct meetings online, and serving within the School of Integrated Health as needed. Successful candidates must be committed to a Christ-centered approach to education and in agreement with the Wesleyan theological perspective.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as an adjunct faculty member for the human services and life coaching programs - (Essential)
• Facilitate both online and in-person life coaching training courses - (Essential)
• Ensure Life Coaching Training Curriculum remains commiserate with the International Coaching Federation Core Standards and Ethical Practices - (Essential)
• Attend Adjunct meetings per the program director - (Essential)
• Provide valuable feedback regarding Life Coaching professional certification standards and requirements - (Essential)
• Evaluate student work through timely and meaningful feedback - (Essential)
• Provide oversight to program director regarding life coaching best practices as needed - (Essential)
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Division of Behavioral & Health Sciences and the Program Director for the Human Services and Life Coaching programs - (Essential)

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

• Master's degree in Huma Services, Counseling, Psychology or appropriate field and Certified as a life Coach

Experience

• Experience teaching using an online modality
• Substantial evidence of effective Life Coaching practices
• An appreciation for the interests of working adults
• An awareness of higher education academic and administrative processes with an understanding of Life Coaching certification process
• A solid track record as a collaborative leader with effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and a strong interest in realizing IWU's institutional learning outcomes.
