As a rapidly expanding presence in the cannabis industry, we are seeking an accomplished Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Social Media to join our leadership team. Position Overview: The Marketing Assistant role at Monko is a hands-on position focused on driving foot traffic, increasing local brand awareness, and strengthening community engagement. This role reports directly to the Director of Marketing and requires an organized and creative individual who can execute Monko’s marketing strategies, establish local partnerships, manage in-store and external events, and grow our presence within the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood and beyond. Responsibilities: Local Business & Community Engagement Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses (gyms, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, barbershops, apartment buildings, etc.) to drive cross-promotions and referral programs. Launch and manage a Business Employee Discount Program for workers in Mount Vernon Triangle, distributing materials to promote repeat purchases. Establish relationships with hotels, concierges, and Airbnb hosts to position Monko as a cannabis destination for visitors. Coordinate Monko pop-up activations in local businesses to drive awareness and immediate foot traffic. Conduct hyperlocal street team marketing, distributing flyers and coupons in local hotels, restaurants, and surrounding neighborhood condos and apartments. Foot Traffic & Direct-to-Consumer Marketing Execute and promote morning rush promotions, such as “Early Bird” specials to increase sales during slower hours. Manage in-store marketing displays and ensure they align with promotions and key messaging. Google Reviews & Customer Retention Strategies Implement daily Google Review outreach by systematically requesting reviews from satisfied customers in-store and through digital follow-ups. Promote Monko’s loyalty and referral programs through signage, digital marketing, and community outreach. Influencer & Digital Engagement Research and establish relationships with micro-influencers (5,000–10,000 followers) in DC to drive social media awareness. Develop a customer-generated content strategy, encouraging customers to post about Monko for incentives. Support social media efforts by capturing in-store content (photos/videos) and assisting in influencer collaborations. Weekly Responsibilities: Event Coordination & Local Networking Plan and execute two in-store Silver Fox Social events per week, driving engagement with the senior community. Organize in-store Customer Appreciation Days featuring exclusive deals, music, and product education to incentivize customers to bring friends. Ensure Monko has a strategic presence at neighborhood events, networking meetups, and community gatherings. Assist in external pop-up activations and brand collaborations to expand Monko’s reach. Newsletter & CRM Management Maintain and grow newsletter contacts in our CRM (HubSpot), ensuring seamless communication with customers. Assist in migrating marketing contacts from our website and other software into HubSpot and optimizing email marketing campaigns. Print & Supply Runs Manage print material orders and event supply pickups to ensure marketing initiatives run smoothly. Monitor and maintain inventory for marketing materials, ensuring availability for street team efforts and events.
