The Role

The Production/Prep Cook team member is an important part of the Operations team and will report directly to the Production Manager and Lead Cook supporting the responsibilities of production team. As a prep cook, you will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation of ingredients and recipes and ensures recipes are followed and quality specifications are met. In this role, you will be adept and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. Our ideal candidate will be quick, diligent, willing to improve on the job, and function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking tasks
  • Ensures all ingredients are in stock
  • Follow recipes guidelines
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work area
  • Operates equipment in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Develop an understanding of equipment operations
  • Assist and/or work one or more stations as needed
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe food storage guidelines
  • Demonstrate knowledge of kitchen health and safety requirements
  • Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and HACCP logs as required
  • Comply with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Company standards
  • Participates in and/or contributes to programs designed to improve production quality and productivity
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Assists supervisor with day-to-day schedule and ensure smooth operations during the absence of supervisor
  • Assist in providing leadership and training coworker and new team members when needed
  • Must be punctual and have reliable transportation to arrive on time for scheduled shift
  • Perform other job duties as required

  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and stretch for extended periods
  • Able and willing to work in environments with extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfaces
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to75 pounds

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
  • Basic math skills and able to read and write in English functionally
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus
  • Experience in food preparation and equipment (preferred)
  • Related experience (preferred)

Hourly Rate: Pay will be dependent on experience - Starting pay $15.00 per hour
