Reporting to the Director of Audio Production, Sourcebooks Audio is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Production Manager to join our new audiobook production team. Ideal candidates will be excited about the opportunity to develop systems and best practices for a new audio program to manage projects with a spirit of collaboration and innovation. 

The Senior Production Manager will be focused on managing titles from pre-production to distribution. This role requires close collaboration with the Director of Audio Production and other team members to develop and implement processes that are efficient, sustainable, and scalable for the budding audio program. Flexibility and innovation will be key, and Sourcebooks “Books Change Lives” mission is critical to our working philosophy.

This role can be hybrid from our Naperville, IL or New York City office, or fully remote from: AZ, CT, IL, LA, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, and WI. 

Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000/year - Starting pay is based on factors like location, experience, and relevant skills — ensuring a fair and competitive offer. 

What you’ll do:
  • Develop production processes that ensure the successful creation and distribution of audiobooks.
  • Coordinate with audio team and outside partners to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Institute, test, and refine systems for audio distribution through our distribution partner, Penguin Random House.
  • Collaborate with Director of Audio and VP, Publisher to develop working practices between print teams, sales/marketing, and outside producing partners.
  • Work to constantly innovate and embody the Sourcebooks mission that Books Change Lives.
What You Bring:
  • Degree in audio or related field, and a minimum of 2-4 years related experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a publishing production environment, particularly with audiobook post production.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and coordinate across departments.
  • Proficient in standard production software and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear and concise interaction with cross-functional teams.
