The Short Term Disability Analyst, quickly investigates claims to determine if the insured person qualifies for short-term benefits and works with them on a treatment plan to return to work as soon as responsibly possible. The Short Term Disability Analyst, supports our mission of helping our customers rebuild their lives after an unexpected event or illness happens while following corporate claim standards, policies and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.

Start Date: 9/9/2024

Training Hours: Core business hours Monday -Friday

Length of Training: 6 weeks

Work Hours After Training: Core business hours

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

• Work within a fast-paced environment that directly interacts with internal and external customers to retrieve or relay information relevant to the Short-Term Disability and Paid Family Leave Claim.

• Utilize critical thinking and mathematical aptitude to gather information, apply sound reasoning and draw appropriate conclusion.

• Utilize business acumen and technical expertise to make sound decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment, with management oversight.

• Help to create a positive team environment that achieves Group Benefit Claims Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ years of experience providing quality customer service is required.

• 2+ years of claim experience is preferred.

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required.

• Medical terminology experience is preferred.

• Professional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to excel in an ever changing high-volume environment.

• Readily able to champion change and innovation.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high-level of quality and accuracy while maintaining productivity targets in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to thrives in a structured team environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.

Additional Information:

• This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Internet Connectivity Requirement/Remote Positions : For hybrid positions, we require that (1) you have high speed broadband cable internet service with minimum upload/download speeds of 10Mbps/75Mbps and (2) your Internet provider supplied device is to be hardwired to the Hartford issued router and/or computer. Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$40,685 - $61,027

The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
