Special Needs Job Skills Coach / RBT / BCaBA

 

The  Special Needs Employment/Job Coach  is vital to Cakeable’s mission and is dedicated to supporting meaningful and enriching employment for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). The role is directly responsible for program development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the training and job placement program in alignment with Cakeable’s vision and strategic plan.

Pay : $42,000.00 - $50,000.00/year

Type: Full-Time, Exempt Staff Position

Work Schedule:

  • The typical schedule is Monday-Friday.
  • Must be able to work non-standard hours, including some nights and weekends, as required for program needs.

Location:

  • Cakeable Cafe is located at 401 N Tryon St, Charlotte and the Cakeable Bakery is located at 4412 Monroe Rd, Charlotte.
  • On-site work location required a minimum of 80% of the time (32 hours a week).

Supervision:

  • Reports to the Executive Director.
  • Indirectly supervises Shift Supervisors and staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of the program manager include day-to-day oversight and training/development of employees, as well as community outreach to develop potential placement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Executive Director on training program development, goals, and objectives.
  • Establish and implement work programs aligning with Cakeable’s mission and strategic direction.
  • Serve as a liaison between Cakeable and the community; establish and maintain relationships as an advocate for individuals with I/DD; and foster relationships for outreach, workforce development and specific job placement opportunities.
  • Partner with Shop Managers on recruitment, hiring, and goal setting.
  • Track and manage job-related training needs of all Cakeable employees; assess readiness for further employment opportunities.
  • Continual review and improvement of current employee training programs.
  • Follow up with placed employees/employers to verify impacts; refine program to achieve meaningful metrics in job placement in support of financial grant reporting requirements.
  • Report program metrics, operations data, and program data to the Executive Director quarterly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Previous work with I/DD community: 2 years (preferred)
  • Nonprofit and/or program management experience preferred
  • Minimum two to four years’ experience in special education, applied behavioral analysis (or similar), workforce development for individuals with disabilities, or other related fields.
  • Exceptional writing, organization, communication, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license (required).
  • Proficiency in using computer software programs and social media, e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Google Mail and Calendar, Facebook, and Instagram.
