US Cash Management Sales Executive Director - New York

The Executive Director Cash Management Sales function identifies and pursues new sales prospects within existing or untapped markets. S/he gathers market intelligence, generates, leads, and develops proposals/campaigns to garner new cash management business, ensuring a consistent flow of new revenues to the company. S/he uses knowledge and technical expertise to provide solutions for transactional banking products with CIB clients across the different industries covered by Santander CIB. The candidate is expected to work cross-functionally with different internal stakeholders and drive the entire lifecycle of the client for Global Transactional Banking, driving revenue opportunities for the firm. 

Job Description:

Identifies and pursues new sales prospects within existing or untapped markets. Gathers market intelligence, generates leads, and develops proposals/campaigns to garner new business, ensuring a consistent flow of new revenues to the company. Uses knowledge of markets, industries, and clients to determine demand, future trends and potential projects/deals.

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Drive and own revenue opportunities for Transactional and Liquidity Banking products across CIB client base as well as client strategy.
  • Deliver creative and customized treasury solutions to CIB clients, leveraging our global cash management offering and footprint.
  • Lead client management, including but not limited to updating offerings, following up on existing facilities, preparing internal reports, proposals, pitches, and sales presentations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the Corporate and Investment Banking teams locally and globally, such as Operations, Compliance, Products, Banking Coverage, Risks, Legal, Treasury, etc., to ensure effective deal management and provide a best-in-class experience to our Santander CIB clients.
  • Commit to excellence, creativity, and a desire to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Partner with Corporate & Investment Banking teams to provide input on the development of our commercial activities and cash management platform developments.
  • Report to senior management regarding the progress of the commercial agenda.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead local and global RFP processes, meeting clients in-person and virtually regularly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Finance, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • 12+ Years in Cash Management Products and Business Development or related experience in large and global Financial Institutions.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Superior knowledge of Cash Management and trade finance services (both credit and non-credit), competitor product lines and commercial compliance regulations.
  • Superior knowledge of financial analysis, risk evaluation, loan and cash management documentation.
  • Demonstrated strong sales, presentation, negotiation, and program/project management skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and ability to quickly learn new software and/or systems.
  • Superior client relationship, marketing presentation and sales/closing skills.
  • Excellent business development and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain and demonstrate high ethical standards and personal integrity to build credibility and trust while enhancing the organization’s reputation.
  • Forward thinking, with a positive/can-do attitude.
  • Demonstrates the ability to create strategic plans and lay out a strategic course of action to drive future business growth for specific cash management products.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of ESG in the context of Cash Management.
  • Additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese)
  • Previous exposure to operational Cash Management areas (Middle Office, Back Office, Legal, Treasury).
  • Experience in related products like Trade & Working Capital, Export & Agency Finance and FX.
