Electrical Design Lead

Location: Vancouver, WA

Salary Range:

  • Paygrade A: $35.20 - $51.90 per hour
  • Paygrade B: $43.80 - $63.50 per hour
  • (Salary based on relevant experience and qualifications.)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Lead to support various project phases, with a strong emphasis on detailed engineering. This position will oversee electrical design efforts, ensuring effective coordination and communication with other engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with equipment layout, grounding, lighting, cable tray and conduit routing, wiring diagrams, one-lines, and panel layouts.
  • Develop electrical design drawings, sketches, and construction specification packages.
  • Serve as the electrical design lead on projects, ensuring designs meet industry standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams from proposal development through project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company and client safety policies while visiting industrial facilities.
  • Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate degree in Design Drafting or related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Extensive industrial experience in electrical design, particularly in retrofit projects. Experience in mid-stream hydrocarbon projects is a plus.
  • Ability to read and develop P&IDs, identify field equipment, and document findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Experience with 3D design and modeling is a plus.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues in a team environment.
  • Consulting experience preferred.

Certifications & Requirements:

  • Eligibility to obtain or currently hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) .
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available).
  • Ability to travel as needed, including visiting client sites, flying commercially, and driving personal or rental vehicles.
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol screening and background check per client requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to work in industrial settings, including exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with safety regulations.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and performing tasks that may involve climbing, kneeling, or crawling.
